Outreach
The Pregnant & New Mom Outreach program offers TMOTT members an opportunity to discuss concerns and seek support from other TMOTT members. While the Buddy program matches members up with other members for one-on-one relationships, the Outreach program offers the support of a group of members who can offer multiple approaches to specific concerns. Members who want to participate in the Outreach program can attend the monthly Outreach meetings at 6:45-7:30pm prior to the general meeting.
The Pregnant & New Mom Outreach meetings follow one of two agendas each month. Some months, local pediatricians are invited to answer questions in a group discussion. Other months, pregnant mothers discuss issues with experienced mothers, and new mothers discuss issues with other more-experienced mothers. This enables both pregnant and new mothers to discuss specific concerns. Some topics introduced at the Outreach meetings include:
Pregnant moms:
My doctor has cautioned me that bedrest is not uncommon for a multiple pregnancy. Just how common is it?
Which pediatricians near my home have experience with multiples?
How realistic is it to plan on nursing my multiples?
Should I buy a tandem or side-by-side stroller?
New moms:
How can I get my babies to sleep through the night?
How will I feed my babies at the same time?
Should I have my children on a schedule?
What resources are available for those moments when I'm not sure I can cope with raising multiples?
